Foundations in Engineering Global Experience

Ole started his career with a hands-on foundation in automation, starting out in a practical, technical role before progressing into engineering. After completing his education, he gained global experience working on offshore crane systems, travelling across Europe, India and China. With the downturn in the oil industry, he decided to further his education and turn his hand to consultancy – a decision that ultimately led him to Rubix with the guidance from a friend.

Progression at Rubix & Defining Projects

Joining as a Project Engineer, Ole quickly progressed through the business, moving into a Team Leader role before stepping into his current position as Engineering Manager. His early career at Rubix was defined by a highly complex factory build project in the US, delivered under the added pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic. Successfully navigating this challenge became a pivotal moment – giving him the confidence to lead large-scale, high-pressure projects and reinforcing his belief that strong teams can solve even the most complex problems.

Leadership, Growth & Team Development

Since then, Ole has continued to grow both technically and as a leader. With support from Rubix, he has further developed his management capabilities through Rubix supported, external education, embracing every opportunity to expand his knowledge and skillset.

Today, what motivates Ole most is developing others. Drawing on his own experience in demanding projects, he takes pride in guiding his team through challenges – helping them prioritise, stay resilient under pressure, and ultimately deliver exceptional results. For him, leadership is about enabling others to achieve what once seemed difficult.

Looking Ahead & Life Beyond Work

Looking ahead, Ole is focused on strengthening and expanding the engineering function – growing the team and taking on increasingly complex projects that push both capability and innovation.

His advice to new joiners at Rubix is simple: be positive, embrace every challenge, and don’t be afraid to ask for help – there’s a wealth of knowledge across the business ready to support you.

Outside of work, Ole is a dedicated runner, having completed a marathon and multiple half marathons. Alongside family life with his three young children, he continues to set personal goals – currently aiming to break the three-hour marathon mark.
