Harry Williams – Insite Manager, UK
Starting Strong: From apprenticeship to Insite Manager
Harry’s journey with Rubix began through an apprenticeship, after discovering the opportunity while looking for a role which combined his passion for customer interaction, problem-solving and systems-based work. What stood out to him about Rubix was the ‘Insite’ model – working directly on a customer’s site, supporting operations in real time. The chance to be embedded within an aerospace client environment and play a hands-on role in keeping production moving made the role an easy choice.
Starting as an Insite Apprentice, Harry gained a comprehensive understanding of the business from the ground up. Over three years, he balanced formal training with real-world experience, supporting internal sales, managing day-to-day operations and stepping into additional responsibilities when needed. His willingness to go above and beyond – often taking on multiple roles and dedicating his time to keep operations running smoothly – helped build both his capability and reputation.
Managing operations in real time
A defining moment came when he completed his apprenticeship with distinction, followed shortly by securing his first Insite Manager role. This transition marked a significant step forward, giving him full ownership of site operations, customer relationships and performance delivery.
Since then, Harry has continued to develop a highly dynamic and responsive approach to his role. Working on-site means balancing competing priorities in real time – whether it’s sourcing urgent parts during critical breakdowns or planning stock to prevent future disruption. Strong time management, adaptability and clear prioritisation have become essential skills in operational efficiency and keeping customers happy.
Building relationships & driving value
Beyond his core role, Harry has actively sought opportunities to broaden his understanding of the wider business. From spending time in branches and distribution centres to visiting head office functions, these experiences have given him valuable insight into how different teams contribute to the customer satisfaction.
For Harry, the most rewarding part of the job is the relationship he builds with customers. Rather than simply supplying products, he sees himself as an extension of their team – working collaboratively to solve problems, improve processes and keep operations running smoothly.
Looking ahead: Growth, Leadership & Ambition
Looking ahead, Harry’s ambition is to progress into managing larger Insite operations with dedicated teams, combining his operational expertise with people leadership to drive even greater impact.
His advice to those starting out at Rubix is simple: Learn from everyone around you. Every role within the business plays a part and understanding how they connect is key to long-term success.
Outside of work, Harry enjoys playing pool competitively, going to the gym and making the most of time on the road in his performance car when the weather allows.
