As part of the Group’s network development strategy, Rubix has acquired the trade and assets of Romanian power transmission specialist, BADI.
Founded in 1994 by Mr and Mrs Anton, BADI is an established and respected distributor in southern Romania and one of the leading SKF distributors in the country.
The business operates three sites, including the Bucharest headquarters, with annual sales of more than €5.5m and 24 employees who have already transferred to Rubix.
The acquisition extends Rubix’s presence in southern Romania while extending the power transmission offer across the country.
Mr and Mrs Anton will retire once the agreed transition period is complete having built and run the business successfully together for more than three decades.
Commenting on the acquisition, Horatiu Vadan, MD Rubix Romania, added: “I joined Rubix when my own business was acquired, so I know that choosing a new home for BADI is something Mr and Mrs Anton will have considered very carefully.
“They can be incredibly proud of the business they have created, and I wish them well for their well-earned retirement. I am delighted to welcome my new colleagues to Rubix and look forward to working with them as we continue to develop our Romanian business.”
Mr Anton, MD of BADI, added: “As we prepared for retirement, we wanted a partner that would take care of the business we have created over the past 30 years, sharing our commitment to excellent customer service while continuing to develop our high-calibre and dedicated team.
